I was making challah bread and somehow ended up with extra dough. I don't know how it happened either. Intent on making sure it doesn't go to waste, I rolled it out and made cinnamon buns.

Challah Bread Cinnamon Buns

  • Leftover challah bread dough
  • 4 Tbs softened butter + 2 Tbs melted butter
  • 1 Tbs cinnamon
  • 2 Tbs white sugar

Preheat the oven to 350. Roll out the dough until it is approximately half an inch thick and rectangular in shape. Spread the butter all over the top of it. In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar until combined. Sprinkle on top of the butter to an even coat. Roll the dough until its a log shape. Cut the log horizontally every one inch or so. Place the buns on a sheet pan, two inches apart. Brush the tops of the buns with a bit of melted butter. Put in the oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
